Civil Law
Anthony J. Nunes / June 30th, 2013Our office also handles cases involving Civil Restraining Orders and Names Changes.
Civil restraining orders are restraining orders that do not relate to divorce, paternity or child custody proceedings. For instance, a civil restraining order may arise in the context of a dispute with a neighbor where you would like to ask the court to restrain that person’s undesirable conduct or actions. These restraining orders normally involve everyday disputes and disagreements that arise between people.
Another area involving Civil Law that our office handles are name changes. Name changes typically occur when a person divorces or when a person is seeking to change his or her name in the process of applying for U.S. citizenship. However, there are occasions when the issue of a name change arises not involving these matters, for instance, when the parent of a child disappears and you would like your child to have your name, or when you no longer desire to have your birth name or names.
If you are considering filing a civil restraining order or were served with a civil restraining order and must respond and would desire expert and experienced legal representation, or would like a name change, please feel free to contact our office for legal assistance.
